Roughshod

Roughshod is taking a break in 2019 while we explore new creative methods and develop ideas, but if you are interested in our future plans please do get in touch with the office on touring@rltc.org or 01904 655317 to find out more. Our future work will continue to be committed to working in communities, schools, and prisons, so if you fall into any of those catagories we would love to hear from you!

About Roughshod

Roughshod is a professional touring theatre company created by Riding Lights in 1992 to concentrate on the grass-roots community touring which embodies the early years of Riding Lights itself.

Roughshod tours from local bases in every type of area, from the East End of London to southern Ireland, from inner city Glasgow to the rural Forest of Dean, bringing a repertoire of shows and workshops to people from all walks of life.

Roughshod are designed to reach new audiences and take theatre into places where it doesn’t often go, bringing a dramatic tool-kit of performances, workshops, sketches and personal stories to every community they visit.

Working in partnership with local base organisers Roughshod can work anywhere from a school to a shopping centre, church or prison. In the past Roughshod have also performed on aircraft carriers, in castles, care homes, coffee shops, universities, back gardens, homeless shelters, army bases, and even the odd theatre.
