Where Adventure Begins: partnering with New Wine

We are very pleased to announce that in 2018 Riding Lights will be partnering with New Wine to produce a new show all about growing faith in the family.

Touring the UK from January to March 2018 Where Adventure Begins is a brilliantly entertaining show – real, touching and hilarious – an unmissable piece of theatre to deepen our understanding of ‘family’.

Here’s the trailer which is being show at New Wine events this summer:

Meet Jake, Jasmine and Ellie as they re-live their childhood and teenage experiences of Christian faith at home and at church.
Nobody knows how it will turn out, but everyone’s agreed that we need to keep together on the adventure of faith.

To find out more about hosting a performance for your church contact Jo Foster on 07855 403029 or email jo.foster@new-wine.org.

brought it to life and showed a way of hope.”

“In awe of what I’ve just seen, spot on, truthful and important.”

We’re delighted by the way the show is being received and are looking forward to taking the show on tour round the country. Looking for a show near you? Try our handy tour map.

A Christmas Cracker – Trailer

Last week we packed Rachel, Gail and a whole menagerie of puppets into the back of a Riding Lights van ready for our Yorkshire tour of  A Christmas Cracker. The show has gone down a storm in primary schools, so we’re very excited for the first public performance this Friday here in York.

We’ve created a trailer to give you a taste of the show, and below that we’ve got a few of the responses from some of the pupils and teachers who’ve seen the show so far.

“We thought that you were outstanding. I really liked how the stories were humourous and entertaining.
The whole play was amazing!”
(Year 4 pupil – Haxby and Wigginton Primary)

“My favourite was Cracker and the shepherds fighting”
“I thought Ebeneezer was really stuck in that ladder!”
(Pupils – Nawton Primary)

“Our kids don’t sit still for more than 5mins, but they were transfixed all the way through!”
(Teacher – Woodthorpe Primary)

“Riding Lights get a good balance, good for the kids but also something for the adults to chuckle at too.”
(Teacher – Nawton Primary)

You can find a full list of public performance on the A Christmas Cracker web page, or if you’re looking for a show further south, Goose Chase is now on tour nationally.

Fantastic Acts! – Audience Response

Fantastic Acts! has been on the road for a week and a half now and we’re continuing to get excellent feedback from those who’ve seen it. But you don’t have to take our word for it – here’s an audience vox pops video…

The show is currently touring the UK with its final performance on the 29th of November. You can find the full list of upcoming performances here – along with the trailer for the show.

Fantastic Acts! – New Trailer

The cast are in the building and Fantastic Acts! rehearsals are underway. There’s current half a set in the Friargate foyer, and this morning costume measurements were taken… though they were for a puppet. We’re two and a half weeks away from opening night and Friargate is a hive of activity. Plus we’re getting through coffee at four times the normal rate.

However in all this busyness we did manage to grab an hour or so with John and Daniel to record this…

Fantastic Acts! is touring from the 8th October to the 29th November.
You can find a full list of performances here.

Fantastic Acts! Teaser Trailer and Tour Dates

Today may be the first day back at school for many, but we’ve been working hard all summer getting ready for our new autumn tour of Fantastic Acts! Our local organisers have been busy organising while writers and designers have been, well writing and designing, plus the show is now cast (more on that soon). We’re very excited about the show.

In fact to whet your appetites too we’ve got a short teaser trailer…

The tour is taking shape very nicely, and you can see a full list of confirmed performances over at Fantastic Acts! show page (with a couple more to add as we get the final details.) So find a performance near you and get the date in your diary – we’d love to see you there!
