COURSES
Act Now (19-90)
Improvisation is the key creative skill for actors and writers. This brand-new course is the perfect way to learn the craft of making up sensational scenes (and some very silly comedy!) completely in the moment. These playful workshops will give you the tools to create instantly memorable performances so - Act Now!
Free Speech (19-90)
Putting pen to paper sounds idyllic and freeing, but often daunting. It’s time to free your speech and pen a new story all of your own. This course is for anyone who wants to create stories and scripts in a safe, non-judgemental and productive environment. What you will write is currently a mystery, but with a team of expert writers, you will be guided on a journey of discovery and development as you realise what you’re capable of. Together, this course will present a showcase of new writing, mysteries and tall tales.
Flying Colours (14-18yrs)
Calling the Detectives! There’s been a murder! Come and help create a brand-new Murder Mystery. You begin only with nothing, the characters, setting and motives are all up to you, with the guidance of excellent tutors. This devising course will teach you story-building skills, while also improving you as an actor and performer. The final show is a mystery, all will be revealed!
Face The Music (14-18yrs)
We’re All Mad Here! Come and join us for a musical adaptation called Al Is In Wonderland! This classic story has been updated and given new life by Jon Boustead. There’s a role for everyone, no matter your ability or experience. Come and develop your acting, singing and dancing skills while also learning how to work in an ensemble. With a great group of tutors, this show will be full of fun, nonsense and fantastic new songs.
Stage By Stage (19-90)
This year, Stage By Stage will be taking on a COMEDY THRILLER. A perfectly playful production with a host twists and turns to take your breath away. No matter your ability, there’s a role for you, all we ask for is a little enthusiasm and an up-for-it attitude! This course will develop your character acting skills while working in an ensemble to create something truly spectacular.
Stage Management (14-90)
The story is ready, the actors are in the wings but…well…the stage isn’t set! Theatre doesn’t exist without a fantastic team of stage managers. This course will teach you everything you need to know about the production of a show from behind the scenes, with real hands-on experience…on our other productions! Under the guidance of expert advise and tutoring, you’ll have a theatre crash course to remember.
But don’t just take it from us, hear what former Summer Theatre Week participants have to say:
‘This is a place where I can be myself’
‘Where my faith and passion for theatre come together’
‘One of the best creative holiday weeks I’ve been on’
‘For me, it’s the community and long-term friendships you make’
‘I love the retreat aspect with a clear focus – you can get away from your everyday life’
‘A place to thrive wherever you are in life’
