York Musical Theatre Company Presents…

Blue Remembered Hills

By Dennis Potter
Directed by Richard Bainbridge

‘Into my heart an air that kills
From yon far country blows:
What are those blue remembered hills’

BRH_300px wide1943. A hot summer’s day. Nearly tea-time. Fathers are fighting in the war. Mothers are having to make do and mend.

Children are playing, laughing and making memories in the Forest of Dean. But children can be cruel. Very cruel…

Originally made for television with a cast including Helen Mirren, Dennis Potter’s experimental, bold and brutal work about children is a classic and muddies the distinction between childhood and adulthood in a shocking and moving way.

Do you truly remember what it’s like to be a child? Look to those Blue Remembered Hills.
